In the last three years, I have lived with three different host families in Pennsylvania. I moved there from South Korea when I was fifteen years old because I sought out new educational challenges, and I was interested in experiencing diverse surroundings and cultural viewpoints. As the student council president in my Korean middle school of eight hundred, I had learned to carefully listen to others’ varied concerns.
