To be completely honest, since I live and go to school in Virginia, the only universities and colleges I knew of were the College of William and Mary, University of Virginia, Virginia Tech, and, of course, Lord Fairfax Community College. However, ever since learning about University of Wisconsin—Madison in eleventh grade, I became more and more absorbed in the university, the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences, and the Midwest as I never ceased to picture myself “striding through a tallgrass prairie in search of nesting birds,” or insects, for that matter...
