STATEMENT
446-word version
Dear Mr./Ms. °ü°èÀÚÀ̸§, ¶Ç´Â To whom it may concern:
I have known Ä£±¸À̸§ since my 9th year and have been close to him for 3 years. I was first drawn to him because we shared a common hobby; we both were enchanted by the piano. Though we were amateur players, we used to gather together during lunchtime, sneak into the music room, and play pieces that contained our dreams and passions.
We were also rivals in the classroom, competing for first place. In the Korean educational curriculum, sophomores are divided into two different tracks: those majoring in science and math and those majoring in language arts and social science. Because of this distinction, freshmen become indifferent to their non-major subjects, thus likely to fail in those tests. Though Ä£±¸À̸§ was in the language arts and social science track and I was in the math and science track, he excelled in science subjects.
Ä£±¸À̸§ is a truly captivating friend. He is erudite, excelling in many areas of study such as science, Western arts, classics, rock’n roll, literature, philosophy and economics. One interest that I share with him is literature. He was especially interested in poetry and won many literature awards...
Sincerely,
ÇÊÀÚÀ̸§
